Silent Men

Silent Men is the debut feature-length documentary from BAFTA Scotland winning Scottish filmmaker Duncan Cowles.

Part therapy, part road trip, a deadpan filmmaker asks men how they show their emotions, to help him confront his own struggles with opening up to loved ones.

The film had have its WORLD PREMIERE at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2024 and was awarded a Special Mention in the International First Features Competition June 12 – 17.

Scary Adult Things

BBC Scotland commissioned Duncan Cowles to do a 6-part TV series to explore millennial problems in an off-the-wall documentary series.

‘Scary Adult Things’, produced by Studio Something, will follow Duncan as he hurtles into his 30’s, still living at home with his parents, he looks around at his peers and attempts to answer the question most millennials wrestle with, ‘am I doing this right?’
